Verity knew the only way she’d be happy about their relationship, about their mating, was if she herself worked out what she wanted and then made that clear to her men. The problem was, she was so ambivalent about everything.

Wanting to be an integral part of their lives was a given. The easy way Noah and Ezra had agreed to her request about being involved in Ezra’s business entertaining proved they were sincere in having her as a full partner in the union. It was a very tangible demonstration of their love for her and willingness to include her wishes in their daily lives. Verity supposed she should be more gracious about that. Both men had needed to sell their apartments to finance the building of the house. Her own money was adequate to buy the commercial stove and fit out her kitchen, plus pay for drapes and rugs, but that was about all. She’d be living off her earnings after she’d spent all that money. Which didn’t worry her.

The drunk driver who had caused her mother’s death had paid for her schooling. It’d never replace her mother, or all the years they should have spent together, but it had helped both her and Serena get a start in life. If Verity now used her new home as the basis for a little home business in catering, she could quit her job and work at something that really appealed to her. The more she thought about the idea the more she wanted to do it. She knew she had the skills to run a small business or at least a small catering business.

All of which was good, but it was just going around in circles.

What did she really want in life? What did she want from her men? Was she appreciating them adequately, or was she just a selfish, self-centered bitch?

She needed to talk to them properly. To be as open as possible, explaining in more detail than she had yet about her thoughts on the catering business. Up until now it had been an idea she liked, but she’d finally decided she really would do it. She needed to include the men in her plans, as they had so graciously included her. She needed to be open and talk to them, to truly communicate, if she expected them to do the same for her.

Noah had laid aside the fact he was a Dom, the fact he’d planned their mating, to reschedule it all because of her wants and desires. The way he designed their scenes in the dungeon proved he knew what aroused and fulfilled her sexually. She was always completely satisfied in the dungeon. So that meant he did understand her at least to some extent. If he didn’t, he’d have tried things she disliked, but everything they’d done had just driven her pleasure higher. So that proved he did care about her and understand her body if not her mind.

Both Noah and Ezra’d had to sell assets to make building the house possible.
